AMP’s Tomorrow Makers 2015
In 2015, AMP’s Tomorrow Fund awarded $1 million in grants to 42 amazing Australians of all ages, interests and abilities. Here is one of their stories.
After a long career in advertising, Ravi decided to do something different. In 2013, he and wife Della opened a café in his Sydney lounge room with the aim of helping refugees and asylum seekers settle into their new home. Parliament On King trains new arrivals in barista skills and food preparation, and offers family dinners and catering. Ravi is using his grant to build up a catering social enterprise: “I want to give recent arrivals the chance to meaningfully participate in the social and economic life and prosperity of our country.”
